Gerardo Mosquera es cr\u00edtico y curador independiente. Ha realizado labores como comisario de arte y conferencista en m\u00e1s de 80 pa\u00edses. Fue miembro fundador de la Bienal de La Habana (1984), jefe del departamento de investigaciones del Centro Wifredo Lam, tambi\u00e9n en la capital cubana (1985-1990), curador en el New Museum of Contemporary Art, Nueva York (1995-2009) y comisario general de PHotoEspa\u00f1a, Madrid (2011-2013). Ha organizado numerosas exposiciones y bienales internacionales. Entre sus libros destacan Exploraciones en la Pl\u00e1stica Cubana (La Habana, 1993), Contracandela. Ensayos sobre kitsch, identidad, arte abstracto y otros temas calientes (Caracas, 1995), Caminar con el Diablo. Textos sobre arte, internacionalismo y culturas (Madrid, 2010), Adi\u00f3s identidad. Arte y cultura desde Am\u00e9rica Latina (Badajoz, 2011) y Arte desde Am\u00e9rica Latina (y otros pulsos globales) (Madrid, 2020).
